Check a username yourself

The official way to test a name is in the Discord app: open your profile settings and try changing your username. If it is taken, Discord will tell you. That is the only reliable availability check — third-party "checkers" can be slow, wrong or built to harvest accounts.

Why the good names are never available

Discord's username update let millions of accounts claim names in order. Everything short, clean or meaningful — 4-characters, single words — was taken almost instantly and only frees up if an account is deleted or sold. Available is the exception, not the rule.

Your realistic options

Where "available" really is

When a name appears in our marketplace, it is available in the sense that matters: the owner is selling it, the account is verified, and the transfer is safe. You browse a catalog instead of gambling on availability.
